Watch this wonderful video (here or here) by Miko Peled, the author of the book The General's Son. Peled, the son of a late general in the Israeli army, later turned peace activist, addresses and disproves three common myths about the so-called Israeli State:
1 - That in 1948 Palestine was a people-less land.
2 - That in 1967, the American-British-Israeli attack on Egypt, Syria, and Jordan, and the ensuing of invasion of the West Bank, Gaza Strip, East Jerusalem, the Sinai Peninsula, and the Golan Heights, were merely preemptive actions to defend Israel's existence.
3 - That Israel is really a democratic State.
Both, the book and the documentary are worth your time.
You can also read Miko's Speech For Palestine which he gave before the AIPCA in 2011. It is a really heartwarming peace.
